Your Diabetes Your Way digital diabetes education resource now available

You will recall late last year we were conducting a review of the DESMOND structured education for people diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes as their contract was due for renewal. Since then, and before the review was completed, the DESMOND programme has closed. DESMOND will no longer accept any new referrals.

This has left a gap for structured education which has now been filled by the national Your Diabetes Your Way online resource for patients with both type 1 and type 2 diagnoses.

We kindly ask for your assistance in advertising the availability of the ‘Your Diabetes Your Way’ digital diabetes education resource platform.   The Lancashire and South Cumbria website is now live and available via: https://ydyw.co.uk  Please disseminate this message as widely as possible to diabetes colleagues and patients.

The online learning section of the website is provided by ‘My Diabetes My Way’ and contains information and resources on Type 1, Type 2, Diabetes in Pregnancy and other topics which are readily accessible to patients.  The accredited Education Modules are available via a quick registration process which verifies that users are registered residents within the Lancashire and South Cumbria area.  Health Care Professionals can also directly refer patients to these education modules (please see attached guide for details).  This Education platform has been commissioned by Healthier Lancashire and is available to all residents across Lancashire and South Cumbria with no limit on referral/registration numbers.
